SSB

Disclaimer : This blog is about why you should attend the SSB. If you are looking for blogs on what is SSB? how to crack SSB? Tips and Tricks! and things, you are at the wrong place.

Okay, so, why should you even attend SSB?

If someone walks up to you and challenges you to live without your smartphone for three straight days? Would you be able to do it?

In SSB, if you get screened in on the first day, you get to live away from the digital life for five full days. Yes, FIVE FULL DAYS.

Such a life can really help you in socializing. It pushes you to talk to people, play some real sports and see the hidden(or rather ignored) beauty of nature.

Yeah, I'm exaggerating. But, it definitely feels good to be away from your smartphones.

A wake up call at sharp 5 am and lights out at 10 pm. Everyday of your stay makes you realize that mornings are actually longer than evenings and you have spent those dreaming under the blankets.

People from all parts of India come along for the SSB. You end up suffocated with a wider variety of languages and cultures. At the end, you pick up a few words from other languages(or at least cuss words) and the slang from your group mate.

You get to know, see and use the landline(if you haven't). They constantly remind you that phones are for communication and not for conversation. And I couldn't agree less.

All those group tasks remind you of Takeshi's Castle(especially the snake race).

In the Personal Interview, you get to narrate and relive moments from your childhood and life in general.

You get to see the posh lifestyle followed by the high ranked officers of our armed forces.

You are also allowed to roam around the city from the second day onward from 2:30 pm to 8 pm.

The whole process leaves you enthralled with such unique experience which I feel everyone should go through. It gives you such pleasure and happiness just being a part of the process.

Good food, a nice place to stay and no outside worries clouded in your mind. A perfect escape form reality, is what I would say.

People from various walks of life give in their perspective of life to change your understanding and dimension of life.

Stepping into the AFSB at Mysore on Nov 24th(Day 1) and stepping out on Nov 29th(Day 5) with surplus friends, memories and experience.

In short, SSB is like BigBoss in formal attire. Yes, you need to be in formals(or the group task dress) most of your time. Unlike BigBoss, you are not monitored 24x7 and it is not telecasted.
