As the election season has started, images begin to roll in the social media. #Right_to_vote #My_first_vote.

Yes, it is the right and duty of every Indian citizen to do this. To cast your vote and post it online(this part isn't actually compulsory).

Since the last election season, the election commission added an option called NOTA. From then on, it has become a trend among the youth to cast their vote for NOTA.

I am not sure how many of them are aware of this, but, NOTA means None Of The Above.

If NOTA tops the election, it can bring the governor rule. NOTA getting the highest number of votes, means re-election. Nope. Not at all! Do not fall a prey to all these rumors!

Just think how much money and manpower it would cost our government to bring about a re-election. Even in the re-election people could opt for NOTA. Imagine then, we would be stuck in an infinite loop.

If in a constituency, NOTA gets the highest number of votes, it is simply ignored and the second highest candidate is declared as the winner.

If you sincerely need to show your opposition to the major political parties and leaders(as I do), why not opt for some of the independent candidates in your constituency, rather than opting for NOTA.

Everyone got super excited(including me) with the announcement of the Indian squad for the upcoming World Cup, this year. All I ask for, is to show the same, or atleast, a little interest in knowing the candidates of your constituency.

Spend a least of about 5 minutes, to analyze the candidates in your constituency, so that, you could spend the next 5 years without criticizing the government.

There is a saying in Tamil,

வீடுதேடி வர லட்சுமிய வேண்டாம்னு சொல்லக் கூடாது.

which means never say no to money. Accept the offer without hesitation. Think wise and vote for the best candidate(that you feel) in your constituency.

Most of the websites show only the candidates of popular parties. I did a small research, and here are two apps, which provide us with the list of all the candidates, along with their affidavit.
